Description:
Intern will assist resource professionals on the Powell Ranger District with conducting wildlife and aquatic surveys, implementing wildlife habitat improvement projects, surveying sensitive species, trapping Utah Prairie dog, and supporting other programs in range and recreation. Applicants must be self-motivated with the ability to work outdoors in challenging terrain and operate a four-wheel drive vehicle. Individual works with a team of biological technicians on wildlife habitat and conservation activities.
Responsibilities:
Intern will assist resource professionals on the Powell Ranger District with conducting wildlife and aquatic surveys, implementing range and habitat improvements, data entry, and supporting our recreation program with trail and facilities maintenance as needed. Applicants must be self-motivated with the ability to work outdoors in challenging terrain and operate a four-wheel drive vehicle.
Qualifications:

High school graduate or equivalent.

Must have a strong interest in outdoors, wildlife biology and conservation.

Ability to focus on the daily work, input data on phone or tablet.

Must be willing to stay focused on the task and avoid outside distractions such as cell phone use or other technology.

Basic knowledge of ATV/UTV use, and 4x4 vehicles.
